This month we also have some other talented performers from the local FAD studios. Since it’s start in 1980 FAD has been offering fun jazz classes for all ages and catering for all levels from beginners to advanced students.

Studio director Kristy Needham teaches classes right here in the same venue as the markets so who better to be the very first performers to take to the stage at the IIB.

This Sunday we will see almost 100 young dancers displaying routines from jazz, hip hop and cheer classes as well as showcasing choreography from their competition groups. FAD will be performing at 10.30am on Sunday morning for about an hour so be sure to stop by and watch some great entertainment.

Ipswich is a huge town for dance studios and the IIB is proud to be the only local markets to have a hand in supporting and promoting young Ipswich dancers and the studios that give so much of their time to cultivating them.

Introducing the musical talents of...

...Curtis Wilkinson

Curtis is a great young musician and we are very proud to have him as part of the IIB family. He has been busking at our markets for a while now and we all love hearing his voice wafting over the stalls.

We asked Curtis a few questions…

How long have you been busking?

I have only recently started busking but once I did I realised how valuable an experience it was. It works on my performing skills and helps me get used to playing in front of a large group of people I don’t know.

Who inspires you?

The acoustic things I play are inspired by artists such as Pete Murray, James Blunt, Oasis and others of that nature, but I am also playing electric guitar for a very heavy band, which plays deathcore. It’s hard to say which of these genres I prefer playing as they both have pros and cons.

Where do you practise and how did you learn?

I practice at home, in front of my friends and in my school music room, pretty much wherever I have access to a guitar. I have guitar lessons from a lady name Louise and my school music teacher helps me a lot.

Do you play any other instruments?

I play guitar and bass guitar, I used to play the saxophone but I haven’t in a while and I also do a bit of drumming. I also sing.

Where do you see music taking you?

I look at music as my dream career. I want to be an artist but failing that I would greatly enjoy tutoring and teaching music.

Do you write your own music and do you have plans to record in the future?

I do write my own songs about my friends and other such things, my music teacher told me she would be happy to record me with some decent equipment so yes, I do have plans to record I guess. J

We have been busy this morning, checking on the huge hall for all our lovely stallholders, talking to the papers and putting up the sign at Brassall Shopping Village. We have to send a huge thank you to Cheryl Bromage and the lovely ladies at the Brassall offices for giving us free use of the sign every month, we really appreciate their support.

A Brand New Friend

Usually it's me skipping through the blogs and finding new and exciting things people are doing, but this morning it was the new and exciting blog that has found me!

We were contacted this morning by the lovely Sam who is writing the Oz Market Blog...it promises to be a great resource for everyone involved and interested in markets around the country. It's lovely to speak with someone who is as passionate about the atmosphere and quality of markets as I am.

It's been a while...

...in between markets that is! We all had a break last month because of Anzac Day but we are back into the market swing this Sunday.

Stallholder count for this month is already at 68 and that's not counting all of those stallholders who haven't yet confirmed and the ones who show up on the day! So all in all we could be looking at upwards of 80 stallholders for yet another jam-packed market!

Kerryn and I are busy promoting our butts off to get those customers through the door and I am also working on a few little surprises for you...I'm not telling yet but if you stay tuned to this station, I will reveal all soon! (stop sniggering...)

We had a great weekend...

...at the Ipswich Global Fiesta. Spoke to lots of people and handed out heaps of information. We had visits from not only stallholders and customers but Mayor Paul Pisasale dropped in to say hi after his already massive weekend! It was amazing the amount of people we spoke to who had already heard about the IIB and been to visit us over the past few months! All the feedback was so positive, so we know we are on the right track!

Bookings are starting to pile up now for our next market...Sunday 23rd May (the April market falls on Anzac day so we are all having the month off and gearing up for a massive market in May! We have MORE new stallholders for you all to meet and some new entertainers, a fantastic winery has contacted us and we also have a few surprises in store for stallholders and customers alike! (stay tuned)

We would love everyone to invite at least one friend (but many is better) to the markets next month...we know that the blog and the fanpages etc are a great networking tool but in the end it is all about getting real people through the doors on the day of the market. And the more people through the door means a great, fun and profitable day for all our stallholders, isn't that what we all want? If you would like flyers/posters or any other promo material, please let us know via email or phone and we will get them to you asap.

Off now to plan a big surprise for all our stallholders...after our brainstorming session yesterday, we think you're going to have a 'ball'!!

Kerryn and Kyla, your intrepid organisers will be holding an information stall for the IIB at the Global Fiesta on Sunday. There will be lots of info about the markets as well as samples of stallholders goods and a few little surprises!

This months MARKETS

Well, the 4th Sunday of the month is almost upon us again and we are getting ready (and a little excited too) to welcome all our amazing stallholders again.

Last month was so great and we had over 800 people through the door! Not bad for our first markets in the new venue. We have working hard on getting even more of the Ipswich public through the door to see your amazing stalls. Did you come and visit myself and Kerryn at the Ipswich Lifestyle and Hobby Expo on the weekend? I had the stand for iDance (my dance studio) and we were furiously handing out showbags and leaflets with all the info about the IIB as well. Our most beautiful friend Joey also gave an interview on River 94.9 and plugged the IIB BIGTIME!! well done Boss!

We have had the emails flooding in over the last few weeks as well with new stallholder enquiries so keep an eye out for MORE new faces in the stallholder crowd. We have some more advertising going up this week so be on the lookout...the big sign at Brassall Shopping Centre is about to get the IIB treatment, more signs are going up all over the place and today the toddy and I are taking a road trip and hitting every community notice board in the city and surrounds. That being said, we would still love your help in promoting the IIB. Here's how you can help...

1. Go to this previous post and right click on the flyer image to copy or save it. You can use this image to post on your own blog or website, print out to use as a flyer or a poster or many other creative uses.

2. Join our facebook group and the fan page (which you can find by clicking the new button to your right) Promote us through your facebook page...it's the world's biggest networking tool at the moment...we may as well take advantage of it!

3. Word of Mouth is our greatest promoter! Tell everybody about the IIB, relatives, friends, people you run into at the shops, your school friends or their parents...you get the idea!

4. Do you have a mailing list for your business? Add a little note in your mailings/newsletter about the fact that you will be at the fabulous IIB on the weekend...then your online customers can come and visit you (and the rest of us) in the flesh.

Can you think of some more ways you can help us promote? Let us know and we will provide you with the means to do so!

We would like to remind all our stallholders new and old that setup/bump in is from 6.00am, the gates off Vogel Rd will be locked before this time and you will not be able to enter the venue until 6. The same applies for knock down. We advertise that the markets run until 1pm and there will be no packing up before then unless announced or if you have express permission from Kerryn.

Our Very First Day...

...was AMAZING!

With a full to overflowing venue, lovely and talented stallholders and over 800 customers through the door it was a great day for all involved. A huge thanks goes out to everyone involved.

It was great to see all the old faces from Karallee Country Markets back with us in the new venue as well as the multitude of new stallholders. Thank you to all our friends and followers who dropped by to congratulate us and shop till they dropped.

Well, we are down to single digits on the countdown to the very first Ipswich Indoor Bazaar! I hope all the stallholders are as excited as Kerryn and I!

We visited the venue again today and worked out all the last minute details...looks like we are fully booked in the main hall and have already started filling the undercover area! So that's almost 80 stalls of fantastic finds for customers to browse and enjoy. We are expecting even more bookings this weeks so it's really shaping up to be a bumper day at Brassall!

We have been advertising heavily in the local papers and on the radio (you may have noticed!?) as well as promoting the markets through facebook, twitter and here on our blog...but remember, word of mouth is always the best advertising so get chatting! Tell everyone you know that there are some fantastic markets happening next Sunday at the Ipswich High School.

If you are visiting us next Sunday and are unsure where to go, keep an eye out for our signs along the roadway as well as our bright and cheerful flags around the school.

We have had a massive response from stallholders and are happy to say that spaces are filling up quickly for out first market in February. If you are thinking about having a stall at the very first Ipswich Indoor Bazaar, you should probably book your space soon...now even!

last night at our twilight market, our new name was put to a vote, and the winner was Boo Creations.
Congratulations and well done on the name.

we are all very excited about the new name and the new venue.
